2018 Dodge Durango SRT Specs, Pricing & Release Date

2018 Dodge Durango SRT

Back in February at the Chicago Auto Show we got a peak at the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT and crowds were impressed with the aggressive and fierce looks of the SUV as well as its specs. The crowd excitement wasn’t lost on the team over at Dodge who decided to give the 2018 Dodge Durango R/T a similar appearance.

Just like the SRT, the R/T will feature the same front fascia as well as a performance hood that has a center air inlet duct with heat extractors to the side and a lower valence to support the cold air duct system. It will come with a 360-hp 5.7-liter V-8 which is less than the SRT’s 475 hp and 6.4-liter V-8, but powerful in its own right.

Plus, if you choose either the Durango GT with Blacktop or Brass Monkey Appearance packages, you’ll get the performance hood as an option. This model will only include a 295-hp 3.6-liter V-6.
Both the R/T and SRT trim levels will come in the B5 Blue exterior color but that isn’t expected until later in the year.

No 2018 Dodge Durango will have a rotary gear shifter and instead will come with the T-shifter in the SRT. Dodge is also adding a backup camera and sport steering wheel. The R/T audio system is delivered through a powerful BeatsAudio 9-speaker sound system. GT trim levels will have a power liftgate and leather and suede seats as standard equipment.

2018 Dodge Durango SRT

We expect the price for the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT to start at $62,995. And while we are still waiting for final pricing to be announced for the rest of the Dodge Durango lineup, we expect the R/T to hit the street at about $43,000 with a 5.7-liter engine. Not bad for the most popular Durango which will have the same look and feel as the RT. These beasts should be on the showroom floor by early fall 2017.

“We can give other vehicles the same feel and attitude of the high-line vehicles without diminishing the halo because it is based on performance. You can’t do it without differentiating on performance.” — Tim Kuniskis, head of Passenger Car Brands at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
