Following Elon Musk’s twitter response to President Trump’s decision to remove the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord, automakers Ford and GM have both said the withdrawal will not affect their views of climate change or their plans to reduce carbon emissions.

In fact, several industry analysts don’t think the decision will have much impact on operations for most global car manufacturers.

In a statement, GM stated the company would not “waver from our commitment to the environment” and called attention to their inclusion in the Ceres Climate Declaration, the only automaker to have done so as well as their position as one of the first companies to sign the American Business Act on Climate Pledge.

This comes just a day after the company announced they have plans to eliminate an entire shift from their Warren, Michigan transmission plant by the end of this month.
