Spy shots of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS are now available and give us some hints of the thing to come and how it will stack up against the 2018 Range Rover and BMW X7 among others. The new 2018 Mercedes full-size SUV will comfortably fit up to seven passenger and will be sharing the new MHA platform which will also be seen on the GLS smaller sibling, the GLE.
Why the new platform? Mercedes is moving to the MHA to reduce overall weight of their SUVs, which should translate into a much better ride and improved integration with Daimler-Chrysler’s emergent tech in semi-autonomy.
We expect several options in terms of engines, including four-, six- and eight-cylinder units as well as hybrids. We’re also looking to see at least one AMG version powered by the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with two power versions as we’ve seen in other high performance Mercedes editions.
We’ll update further once more information is released and revealed regarding the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS.
